Like i said pull the cotter pin and nut. If the drag link pulls out of the tie rod without effort it was to loose. If it was actually clunking just make sure the taper of the tie rod and the seat area of the pitman are not damaged. Then bolt it all back. If you need a new drag link look for PMF or other aftermarket.
